House of Peace

The owners of The House of Peace came to Wieland Builders with some design inspiration found when researching. Some of those ideas were the low pitched hip roof, the round window above the front door and accent arches on the exterior of the home.

This contemporary design home is located in the Crooked Tree Preserve Community in Mason, Ohio. The exterior of the home has painted white brick, black casement windows, decorative cement on the front and back covered porches and a hint of traditional stone accents. The back covered porch has a large entertainment area that includes a fireplace, traditional bead-board ceiling and a custom grilling station. There is a large sliding glass door that brings the inside out and the outside into the great room. There is also an attached 4 car garage with double steel doors that are heavily insulated.

Throughout the interior of the home is white oak plank flooring. The kitchen has white painted custom cabinetry on the perimeter with a solid quartz slab used for the backsplash. The huge island has a wood stain for the cabinetry and a quartz waterfall countertop. In the dining area there is more custom cabinetry with the built-in hutch and coffee bar and walk-in pantry. A wood accent is used on the custom hood above the stove. This same wood is used on the beams and bench in the great room. Luxury appliances fill this kitchen that was designed for entertaining. The focal point of the great room is the linear fireplace marble surround that goes from floor to ceiling. The fireplace is wrapped with a wood floating bench/hearth. The fireplace wall treatment is applied molding that also has a hidden door to a prayer room. The ceiling wood beams form a coffered ceiling.

Also on the first floor off the great room a hidden prayer room is the primary suite with a mirrored barn door, large oversized zero clearance shower, free-standing tub, large walk-in closet, gold & black plumbing accessories. Off the main entry is a study with custom built-ins painted green and wood tops and a beautiful stairwell with a two story window.

The second floor has four bedrooms and three full bathrooms, a children’s loft and a second loft outside the guest bedroom suite. The lower level has a large media area with a built-in fireplace and wet bar. There is a play room, full bathroom and exercise area as well.

This home has been perfectly designed for the growing family that also likes to entertain.
