Stony Oaks
Our clients at Stony Oaks came to us wanting a traditional ranch home with an open concept that feels like a lodge. The lodge feel was achieved with several design elements throughout the home that include cedar trusses used on the front exterior and on the cathedral ceiling in the great room and kitchen, stained hickory flooring throughout the home has planks of different widths and outdoor living area with a pitched roof that covers a porch with a wood burning fireplace. They also wanted visitors to walk through the front door and be able to see straight through to the outdoor living space. This was achieved with an open concept design with cathedral ceilings in the kitchen and great room; both rooms have walls of glass sliding doors with access to the covered porch. Don’t forget to look up when you enter the home. The entry has a custom-designed ceiling with applied molding.
The first floor is 3,450 sq ft and has 3 bedrooms and 3 baths and 1 half bath. Currently, the lower level is unfinished. The kitchen’s focal point is the custom wood hood over the stove. The great room’s focal point is the stone fireplace with a raised hearth and custom built-ins on both sides. When standing between the kitchen and the great room, all the focal points, including the large island in the kitchen, are lined up.
The mudroom is off the garage and has a drop zone area. This area is connected to the laundry that is attached to the primary bedroom walk-in closet and bathroom. The primary bathroom has his and her vanities with granite countertops and custom cabinetry that matches the framed mirrors above with integrated sconces. The focal point of the bathroom is the free-standing tub and custom herringbone tile mosaic on the floor. There is a large walk-in shower with a zero threshold and his and her niches with accent tile. The attached primary bedroom has a tray ceiling and a feature wall treatment with applied molding.
This beautiful home has many cozy areas for family and friends to enjoy together.
