The Inspiration Behind Oxford Farmhouse

Before embarking on their custom home journey, the family considered restoring an existing 1890s farmhouse on their property. However, due to lost records and structural challenges, they chose to build a brand-new luxury farmhouse that honors the past while embracing modern convenience. They selected Wieland Builders for their expertise, trustworthiness, and seamless communication, allowing them to manage the project remotely from another state with confidence.

Elegant & Functional Design

Oxford Farmhouse showcases meticulous craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and premium materials throughout its spacious layout. The flooring throughout the first floor features 7” engineered white oak planks. Here a just a few of the areas and their custom design details.

The Kitchen and Great Room

In the kitchen, Thermador panel-ready appliances, and two-tone cabinetry with a bisque island and stained white oak perimeter. A custom range hood with an apron front accent complements the Taj Mahal granite countertops and full-height backsplash, adding sophistication to the space.

The great room boasts a cathedral ceiling with suspended truss beams, a stacked stone fireplace with custom built-ins and bench seating, and floating white oak shelves with integrated lighting. An aged brass light fixture enhances the warm and inviting atmosphere.

 

The Primary Suite

 In the primary bathroom, a freestanding tub with a floor-mounted faucet creates a spa-like retreat, accompanied by a zero-entry shower with frameless glass doors, heated ceramic tile floors with a marble-look Calcutta gold finish, and a double floating vanity with integrated sconces.

Secondary Bedrooms and Baths

One of the secondary bathrooms features textured ceramic wall tiles measuring 14×39 inches, a flat pebble tile shower floor, and a floating vanity with gold accents, creating a modern yet comfortable space. Another secondary bedroom has a seating area perfect for reading and unwinding. All the bedrooms in the home have custom closets by California Closets.

Outdoor Living Spaces

Outdoor living areas are designed for relaxation and entertainment, with an expansive travertine patio currently under construction and plans for a firepit to host gatherings. The rocking-chairs on the front porch offer a perfect spot to enjoy peaceful countryside views.

Bringing the Outdoors In

A defining element of Oxford Farmhouse is its harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor living. Expansive Pella windows flood the interior with natural light, while folding doors seamlessly open to the patio, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. The family also incorporated a new pond, creating a scenic focal point just a short walk from the home.

Renowned interior designer David Millet Interiors worked closely with the homeowners to curate a refined yet inviting aesthetic. The design integrates multiple textures, warm neutrals, and clean lines, creating a light and airy ambiance. Key focal points include a statement kitchen hood, a dramatic chandelier, and a grand fireplace—each strategically positioned for visual balance.
